Tewkesbury Town Band’s band room (previously the Saffron Road public toilets) was converted into a bespoke, sound proofed practice room, with reception, music library, lesson room and toilet. The conversion took 15 months to complete at a cost of £13000.00, with all works being carried out by band members and friends. It is carpeted and air conditioned, to provide a comfortable playing environment throughout the year.
With a 125 year lease assigned to the building we have secured a permanent home for the band for the foreseeable future. It was officially opened on 29th June 2019 by Mrs Cadbury OBE, JPDL.
Parking for the band room can be found in Rails Meadow car park, Howells Road, GL20 5PW, approximately 100 yards form the band room. If you are familiar with what3words the band room entrance can be located at ///untruth.unite.magpie.
Please note – parking is chargeable 7 days a week, though is FREE everyday after 5.30pm.
Also the car park is susceptible to flooding when the river adjoining the car park reaches high levels.
